Welcome
The Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of promoting
the commercial, civic, industrial and general welfare of the Kaplan area, the
city of Kaplan and Vermilion Parish. The chamber is a non-profit, non-partisan
and non-sectarian organization.
Kaplan "Gateway to the
Acadiana's Coastal Wetlands" is located in the heart of
Vermilion Parish on the lush lowlands of Southwest Louisiana. The city,
with a population of 5,200, and people of Kaplan characterize the best
qualities of both a proud Acadian heritage and a progressive minded
community. Many residents speak French, especially the older generation.
Those who live here call it "God's Country". Those who visit, return
because of the warmth of the people, good food and the spirit of
"Joie de Vivre" (joy of living).
Only 21 miles from Interstate 10 and sitting directly on Hwy 14, Kaplan
is very accessible from many directions. Sometimes referred to as
"The Most Cajun place on earth", daily life is easy and moves from
celebration to celebration.
